The route will lead the traffic out of Koźmin Wielkopolski.
The General Directorate for National Roads and Highways has just signed a contract with the consortium Polimex Infrastruktura and Polimex Mostostal for the design and construction of the Koźmin Wlkp bypass on the national road No. 15. The cost of the investment is over PLN 76 million, and the deadline is 33 months from the date of signing the contract. If all goes as planned, the drivers will take the new route in the second half of 2025.
– As part of the investment, a new section of a GP road (main road with accelerated traffic) will be built, approximately 6 km long. Thanks to the bypass, the transit traffic will be diverted from Koźmin Wielkopolski. The safety of residents will be improved, the traffic system will be relieved and the road capacity in the city will increase. The investment will also improve the conditions and safety of transport, among others between Jarocin and Trzebnica, as well as between Poznań and Wrocław. On this section, DK15 will be a significant connection between the S5 and S11 expressway corridors – explains Marcin Kucharczak from the Poznań branch of GDDKiA.
It is the fifth ring road in Greater Poland, which is now undergoing the implementation phase under the government’s Program for the construction of 100 ring roads. Earlier, the ring roads of Gostyń, Stryków, Żodynia and Grzymiszewo were built. In total, 8 ring roads are to be built in the region under this program.
