A contract for a billion. Škoda Pars will continue to take care of ČD Panthers for the next five years

A total of 41 electrical units are regularly maintained.

The Škoda Pars company from Šumperk from the Škoda Transportation Group will continue to provide periodic renovations of the Czech Railways RegioPanter and InterPanter electrical units for the next five years. The value of the contract is almost one billion crowns.

The framework agreement concerns the regular renewal of the RegioPanter 440, 640, 650 and InterPanter 660 and 661 series electrical units. A total of 41 units are regularly maintained. RegioPanter units delivered in 2012 have already traveled around 1.5 million kilometers.

“In order to meet the conditions of the ECM (European Maintenance Code) in the coming years, we have competed suppliers to perform periodic renewals for the following period. Each set thus has a comprehensive service and higher levels of repairs, which are carried out after covering every 900 thousand kilometers, “ said the head of ČD Ivan Bednárik.

It is, in fact, an extension of existing cooperation; Škoda has taken care of the Panthers in the past as well. “We see this as a great commitment and at the same time as good news of long-term perspective and stability for our skilled employees and business partners,” said the head of Škoda Pars Aleš Měrka.

Škoda Pars won a contract in March also for periodic renovations (formerly periodic repairs) of 471 series electrical units (CityElefant). So far, the Czech Railways subsidiary DPOV has taken care of these, but it does not have enough capacity. Companies will thus share the work.
