A confession written in a notebook: the FBI revealed that Brian Laundrie murdered Gabby Petito

After a lengthy investigation, the Denver FBI team announced Friday that it has concluded that Brian Laundrie was the murderer of Gabby Petito, the young 22-year-old influencer what was it found dead in September.

Laundry, 23 years old, confessed in writing before committing suicide that he had killed her, the federal police (FBI) reported in a statement on Friday.

“A review of the notebook revealed written statements by Mr. Laundrie in which he assumed responsibility for Petito’s death”, the FBI said in the statement.

“All the logical steps of the investigation have been concluded”said the special agent in charge of the Denver Division of the FBI, Michael Schneider, in the statement issued on Friday, which is quoted by the popular publication.

“The investigation has not identified any person other than Brian Laundrie as being directly involved in the tragic death of Gabby Petito.”, he added.

Laundrie and Petito had spent the summer traveling across the country together in a white van documenting their adventures on YouTube, until September 1 Laundrie quietly returned to her parents’ home in North Port, Florida, without Petito. Ten days later, the 22-year-old woman’s family reported her missing.

During the first week of the investigation into the disappearance of a person around Petito, the Laundrie family refused to cooperate with authorities and directed all questions to their attorneypolice said.

A week later, the Laundrie family spoke to the FBI for the first time, but not to talk about Petito but to alert investigators that his son had also disappeared.

Brian Laundrie’s parents said they last saw him on September 13 after leaving his home “visibly upset” for a walk on the nearby Carlton Reservation.

The FBI and local authorities in Florida quickly launched a search for Laundrie in the 10,000-hectare nature reserve, which included diving waist-deep into swamps infested with snakes and alligators.

As police tried to locate Laundrie in Florida, other search teams continued to search for Petito in Wyoming, his last known location.

On September 19, Petito’s body was discovered in Grand Teton National Park. His death was ruled a homicide by the county coroner shortly thereafter, and on October 12 it was revealed that he died of a constriction.

Days after Petito’s body was discovered, the Wyoming District Court issued an arrest warrant for Laundrie. in relation to the activities that occurred after Petito’s death, not because of his death itself.

For example, the FBI revealed that a A federal grand jury indicted him for using an unauthorized debit card with the intent to commit fraud.

“While this order allows law enforcement to arrest Laundrie, the FBI continues to investigate the facts and circumstances of Ms. Petito’s homicide,” the FBI Denver wrote in a statement on September 23.

Laundrie was never arrested on the Wyoming charges or charged in Petito’s disappearance and murder. On October 20, his remains were discovered in a Florida nature park along with his backpack and a notebook.
