A conference on the theme of flood risks in Grenoble

Since 2017, researchers from the Institute of Environmental Geosciences (IGE) in Grenoble and the Pacte de Sciences Sociales Laboratory (joint research unit of CNRS, Grenoble Alpes University and Sciences Po Grenoble) have been involved in as part of a study called Climat-Métro, the conclusions of which are expected at the end of 2023. Juliette Blanchet, Antoine Blanc and Antoine Brochet are studying the evolution of the risk of flooding linked to climate change. According to their work, the phenomena of extreme floods that were observed every 10 years in the 1950s now recur every 2-3 years, especially in the Drac basin.

Risk perception will also be discussed. locally with the interventions of Marie Breuil,head of the territorial water management department at Grenoble-Alpes Métropole and Anne-Sophie Drouet,Head of the Grésivaudan Territorial Unit of the Syndicat mixte des bassinshydraulics de l’Isère. They will also present adaptation measures put in place, second part of the Climat-Métro study.
