A concert in support of Ukraine will take place near the Riga Congress Hall / Day

The event is spontaneous and voluntary support from the cultural sector to Ukraine, which is currently experiencing widespread Russian military aggression. Music, dance, are the industry’s tools to “hit the heart”, to express support and at the same time to protest against the aggression and imperialism that is taking place in Europe.

The first part of the Ukrainian support concert will feature Latvian folk songs, compositions by Latvian authors and music important to the Ukrainian people, while the second part of the event will feature Ralph Eiland, Aija Andrejeva, Edavārdi, Tautumeitasansis, Jānis Aišpurs, The Bad TonesKārlis Būmeisters, Mārtiņš Balodis, Ingus Ulmanis, Igo, Miks Galvanovskis, Olga Rajecka, Kārlis Kazāks, Iron Wolf, Full happiness, Ainars Virga, Elza Rozentāle, DJ Monsta, Ieva Akuratere, Ralfs Eilands together with Tautumeitām will perform Ukrainian groups DakhaBrakha composition Baby u.c.

At today’s extraordinary meeting, the government changed the restrictions on Covid-19 gatherings, allowing up to 3,000 people to gather outdoors, citing the need to allow the general public to express their views and positions on the world in a non-violent manner.

The concert takes place thanks to the initiative of the musician Ralph Eyland and the cooperation between the Riga City Council and the Latvian National Cultural Center.
