Governor David Monreal Ávila recognized the successful start of the application of the vaccine against Covid-19 for Zacatecan children from 5 to 11 years of age, which has demonstrated its effectiveness in reducing the risk of hospitalization due to the disease and has contributed to the recovery of the economic and social life of the state and the country.

When visiting the vaccination module located in the Francisco García Salinas Primary School, in the head of Pinos, the president urged parents to come and vaccinate their children, “it is extremely important, it is what has come to help to reduce the ravages of a pandemic that affected the whole world.

He said that, thanks to the vaccine, cases of Covid-19 have decreased in Zacatecas and Mexico, as well as hospitalizations and deaths, in such a way that economic and social activity has been resumed “thanks to science, researchers and to the public policy implemented by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.”

For this reason, he highlighted the organized work of doctors, nurses, Servants of the Nation, the National Guard and the Mexican Army to protect the population with the application of the vaccine.

In particular, he recognized the Delegate for Welfare Programs, Verónica Díaz Robles, and the Delegate of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Saandra Durán, who lead the logistics so that the vaccine reaches all regions and municipalities of the state. , as well as the regional sub-delegates and the municipal presidents, for this great effort.

Likewise, he highlighted the successful start of vaccination in the state, since on the first day almost 15,000 girls and boys from 14 municipalities were vaccinated, which allows estimating that in Zacatecas there will be coverage of between 80 and 90 percent of this sector of the child population.

He added that the first batch of vaccines that arrived in the state was 30,000 doses, and this Saturday a second batch of another 30,000 doses was received, so that other shipments of the biological are expected to arrive in the coming days.

Monreal Ávila reiterated the call to all parents, doctors and teachers, so that the immunization process continues successfully and no child between 5 and 11 years of age is left without receiving their vaccine.
