A company that promotes sustainable agriculture won

The Municipality of Villa María announced that the Evaluation Committee of the “Entrepreneurship and Innovation with Ecological Consciousness” contest gave its verdict and awarded the distinctions to the winning projects of the 2024 edition.

The awards were given at the municipal building, where representatives of the institutions designated by the “Emprender Villa María” working group announced that the Nanomix firm was the winner of the initiative and received training at the startup Braga (Portugal) as a prize.

Regarding the company, it should be noted that it is from Villa María and that it proposes a technological development that can modify the way soils are fertilized, since it promotes new protocols that are more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Specifically, they have a development of tiny mineral suspensions (nanoparticles) that encapsulate essential nutrients, allowing a controlled release directed directly to the roots or leaves of the plants.

This technology reduces the need for frequent fertilizer applications, minimizes nutrient loss through leaching or volatilization, and reduces environmental impact by avoiding overdosing.

Regarding the competition, it should be noted that it was promoted by the municipality through the Integrated Development Programme co-financed by the European Union.

The initiative is part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the 2030 Agenda and has the support of the following institutions: National University of Villa María, National Technological University, Association of Entrepreneurs of the Central Argentine Region (AERCA), Technological Promotion Cluster, Villa María Industrial, Logistics and Technological Park (PILT), and Regional Development Entity (ENRED).

Second place went to “Agrohub”, a proposal that focuses on the promotion and sale of phytosanitary products manufactured by companies committed to reducing the Environmental Impact Index, and third place went to “Elementos Para Agrónomos”, which proposed creating tools to collect quality agronomic data that facilitate decision-making, making better use and care of the soil resource.

The projects “Bioenergy”, which aims to generate energy in an alternative way, and “Circular 3D”, which aims to detect the large amount of waste generated by printers and the lack of reuse of these materials, were also finalists.
