Sony-Honda Mobility (SHM), a joint venture between Sony and Honda, announced that it will participate in CES 2025, the world’s largest IT and technology exhibition, to be held in Las Vegas, USA in January 2025.
At this event, SHM plans to unveil its first mass-produced electric vehicle model, AFEELA, and announce information about pre-orders and the latest technology.

SHM is a joint venture co-founded by Sony and Honda in 2022, and is developing the brand Apila, which aims for ‘a new relationship between humans and mobility.’
SHM’s ambitious project, Apila, is a development of cutting-edge autonomous driving technology, evolving autonomy, providing new experiences inside the vehicle, expansion of space and time, and pursuing human-centered technology and sustainability. It is a luxury electric vehicle designed based on three main visions, including harmony.
The Apila mass-produced model, which will be introduced at CES 2025, is targeted for release in 2025, and the first delivery to customers is planned to take place in 2026.
CES 2025, Apila’s key announcements

CES is the world’s largest technology fair, held in Las Vegas every year since 1967. This event, which has traditionally focused on electronics, has now become an opportunity to showcase cutting-edge technologies in various industries, including IT and automobiles.
SHM plans to directly exhibit the Apila mass-produced model at CES 2025 and introduce the vehicle’s design philosophy and technical features in detail.
In particular, at this event, SHM will hold a press conference exclusively to reveal Appila’s vision and specific product strategy.

As for the press conference schedule, the Sony Group press conference will be from 17:00 to 17:45 local time on January 6, 2025, and the SHM exclusive press conference will be from 16:30 to 17:00 on January 7, 2025.
Additionally, all presentations will be broadcast live online, providing the latest information about Appila to consumers around the world.
Design that achieves balance and harmony based on ‘NEWTRAL’

Apilla is a vehicle designed as an electric sedan-type BEV, with a body size of 4,915mm in length, 1,900mm in width, 1,460mm in height, and 3,000mm in wheelbase.
The design concept is based on ‘NEWTRAL’ and boasts a sleek exterior that emphasizes balance and harmony, and the interior space adopts a round interior design that warmly surrounds passengers.
In addition, Apilla is equipped with an electric motor with an output of 180 kW and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 91 kWh at the front and rear, respectively, and through this configuration, it has laid the technical foundation to maximize the performance and efficiency of electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, Apila received a lot of attention when its prototype was unveiled at an experiential exhibition held in Tokyo in 2024. SHM plans to strengthen its position in the global electric vehicle market by presenting Apila’s full-scale mass production model and brand vision to consumers around the world through CES 2025.
