A commodity, debt paid in the libraries of Bécancour

BECANCOUR. From November 1 to December 23, users of libraries located in the city of Bécancour are invited to bring food and/or hygiene products directly to their circulation counter when paying their late fees.

This initiative is back this year, following the appreciation obtained last year by the population. Through this gesture, the City of Bécancour wishes to demonstrate its solidarity with those most in need and take concrete action to support the preparation of Christmas baskets in the region by community organizations in the area. Bécancour therefore once again joins many other cities in Quebec which apply this concept of fine amnesty this holiday season.

Please note that it is suggested to bring one food per item late. This is also a great way to update your file, since the concept also applies to previous charges and sometimes blocks users for new loans.

Furthermore, note that the documents returned must be in good condition and that lost or damaged books are not admissible. Obviously, Bécancouroises and Bécancourois are also invited to drop off food at their loan counter, even if no late fees are incurred.
