Researchers say that the comet will be very close to Earth, but in the context of space it is still unfathomably far – about 42 million kilometers. Sometimes even the planet Venus is closer.
In the sky, the comet will appear as a very dim, blurry spot, much more inconspicuous than other comets that have been close to Earth. It can be distinguished by its green tail.
After passing our planet, the comet will approach Mars.
