A colonel of the Revolutionary Guards was killed near Damascus and Tehran accuses Israel | News

On Wednesday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced the killing of one of its advisers in Syria, and said Aerospace Forces adviser Colonel Dawood Jafari was killed by Israeli operatives in the explosion of a planted explosive device on the side of the road near Damascus.

“There is no doubt that the Zionist entity will receive an answer for its crime,” the Revolutionary Guards added in a statement.

And Fars News Agency reported that Colonel Jafari belongs to the Revolutionary Guards Air and Space Forces, and was killed the day before yesterday, Monday, when an explosive device went off.

There has been no confirmation or denial by Israel of its responsibility for the killing of the Iranian military adviser, at a time when Tel Aviv continues its military operations inside Syrian territory to prevent any military stationing of Tehran in Syria.

The Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Forces include warplane units, units responsible for the production and launch of missiles, satellite and drone launch units.

Al-Jazeera correspondent in Tehran, Omar Hawash, previously said that members of the aerospace forces, especially the elite ones, are being targeted by the Israeli Mossad.
