A close match between Barcelona and Manchester City. Robert Lewandowski played

Manchester City and FC Barcelona players took part in a friendly match during their pre-season tour of the United States. For the coaches of both teams – Pep Guardiola and Hansi Flick – it was a great opportunity to review the squads. Several stars were missing from the squads, and less experienced players were given a chance to play. Despite this, the nearly 64,000 fans in the stands could be satisfied.

At times, the players from both teams were still in their holiday form. There were only seven shots on target in the entire match, and in this statistic, the English players were on top – 4:3. However, goals are the most important thing in football, and in this respect it was a draw.

In the 24th minute, Barcelona took the lead. Marc Casado passed to Pau Victor, who gave Ederson no chance. Fifteen minutes later, City equalised through Nico O’Reilly. The joy was short-lived, however, as Pablo Torre scored a goal for the Catalans in first-half injury time.

Erling Haaland had an unsuccessful match for City, leaving the pitch at half-time. After the break, the English champions managed to strike another blow. This time, Jack Grealish scored in the 60th minute. A moment later, Robert Lewandowski appeared on the pitch.

The match ended in a 2:2 draw, and the winner was determined by penalties. The Manchester players were terrible at taking them. They only converted one of their four attempts. On the other hand, the FC Barcelona players, including Lewandowski, were flawless.

Let’s add that FC Barcelona will play another friendly match in the US against Real Madrid. In turn, Manchester City will face Chelsea FC.
