“The hardest thing is that they are going to euthanize me, they are going to give me an injection and I am going to rest. (…) It is hard, my family supports me, they know that it is the best decision I have made, that it is not easy,” she said at the time.

The rapid spread of the video led the Millonarios football team and its fans to send him messages of support. In fact, the forward Falcao García spoke to him and promised that he would dedicate a goal to him.

Arévalo was the one who shared one of the last videos of the man before euthanasia and dedicated heartfelt words to him: “This morning while we were playing, we strangely said that it was the consequence of mixing medicines with Coca Cola. Today I want to tell you that those were the best hours, I will always love you daddy.”

Acosta’s last posts on his official social media were made on August 27 and 28. In one of them, the fan thanked an artist who drew his face as a tribute.

“I say THANK YOU FOR CAPTURING MY FACE ON THAT PAPER JUST AS I LEAVE MY LIFE AND MY STRUGGLE CAPTURED IN EACH ONE OF YOUR HEARTS…THANK YOU VERY MUCH,” she wrote.
