If you do not want to sign in to a Microsoft account when installing Windows 10 and 11, you may be wondering how to bypass this option. The solution is ridiculously simple.
In new versions of Windows, Microsoft insistently requires users to link their computer to a Microsoft account. If the user doesn’t have one, they have to create one, but there is no visible option to skip. So how do you install Windows without a Microsoft account?
If you want to install the system only with a local account, a simple trick will help you. It is enough to disconnect the computer from the Internet during installation, thanks to which the option to create a local account will appear. After the installation is complete, you can connect to the Internet, perform updates and start using your PC.
If you can’t easily turn off the Internet with a button, a keyboard shortcut will help you:
- Press Shift + F10. A command prompt will appear.
- Enter the command0 “ipconfig /release“ and press enter to disable internet.
- You can now close the command line.
- Take a step back. A field for entering a username will be displayed.
- After filling in the name and password, you can complete the installation.
You can link your PC to your Microsoft account at any time later, so there’s no need to worry that you won’t be able to do this step in the future.
