A 55-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at her workplace, in the Puig company, in Chartres, by the police from the judicial support group.
The company’s security guard had just found her in possession of 17 bottles of perfume made by the company and valued at € 1,400.
The loot was concealed in his cleaning cart, police said. The latter raided his home in Mainvilliers. They would have counted 500 bottles of perfume hidden in the rooms and the kitchen.
According to her statements, she began to steal the goods three months ago. She would have specified to offer them to her family and never to trade them. The damage is estimated at € 43,000.
The merchandise was returned to the company on Wednesday, November 17. She lodged a complaint and announced that she will be a civil party in order to claim damages.
The cleaning lady was summoned to court on June 14, 2022.
