FROM THE PARTNER CITY: Hüningen is looking for new ways in which culture can be helped in times of the pandemic.
. In view of the closed concert and theater halls, closed box offices and idle activities of the associations, the meeting of the Hüningen culture commission in the Triangle cultural center was a small ray of hope. Magdalena Kaufmann-Spachtholz explains why in her letter.
Jaques Lamy and Steve Ursprung, the head of the cultural department and his representative, showed that behind the scenes a very lively cultural life has developed. With the support of the previous Weiler cultural representative Tonio Paßlick, contact was established with his successor Peter Spörrer on a cross-border level. Joint actions are already planned, such as the exchange of teachers at the bilingual schools and music schools. A joint musical Advent calendar, probably virtual, is also on the program.
After the canceled Compli’Cité festival, at which an event should also take place in the hamlet of Kesselhaus, one now hopes for a new edition in spring 2022. Then the “Triangle” cultural center will celebrate its 20th anniversary. The Compli’Cité festival will then take place for the tenth time and will again rely on Weiler participation.
At the moment, however, the entire cultural scene is running in stand-by mode. The reception area in the Triangle is only occupied half a day on three days. Those who can work in the home office. The technical team carries out any repairs and renovations that are due on all municipal facilities. The library is temporarily closed due to illness. The teachers at the music academy teach more badly than right through video conferencing – and they go to schools to bring the local culture to the children.
To this end, the Hüningen cultural office has developed a completely new concept that is probably unique in the whole of Alsace: the Circuit Culturelle – quickly translated as cultural circuit training. It has always been an endeavor of those working in culture to introduce children and young people to the culture of their community. Visits to the theater with schools and kindergartens, musical introductions to instruments and visits to exhibitions were organized very selectively. But since curricula and programming in the cultural sector often do not coincide in time, the results have not been satisfactory. Now the actors have been seated at one table.
The top school supervisory authority, the teachers of the Marcel Pagnol elementary school, the teachers of the kindergartens “Pacquerette” and “Coccinelle” and the day nurseries met at the invitation of the city of Hüningen and were able to take a look at the cultural circuit training. A collection of 25 educational topic sheets was initially developed for primary school students. The aim is to introduce the children to music, dance, art exhibitions, theater, photography, museums, parks, historical buildings or the library.
The highest school authority approved the concept and recommended it to all teachers for implementation. A foretaste of how enthusiastically even the youngest react to this initiative can be found on the Music Academy’s Facebook page. There the children enthusiastically sing the famous nursery rhyme “Frère Jacques – Bruder Jakob” accompanied by the cello teacher. With so much enthusiasm, you would like to be a child again, says yours
