An as yet unknown person threw it shortly after 2 o’clock last night bottle with incendiary liquid at the newest Varna church “St. Procopius of Varna”, reported BNT.
No serious damage was done along the church.
Surveillance camera filmed the arsonist – a man dressed in black who carries a bottle in his hands. He throws a Molotov cocktail over the church fence. According to the police, the arsonist aimed at the wooden door of the temple to start the fire.
The person is wanted.
A bottle of incendiary liquid was thrown on the facade, the tile of the temple is damaged and it is smokysaid Chief Inspector Daniel Mihov – head of the “Criminal Police” sector at the Varna Police Station.
According to Metropolitan John, this incident is not the first attack on a church in Varna. The last such case was with a burning tire in the yard of the Metropolis near the Assumption Cathedral.
