Special times, special means
“It’s nice that it can take place. It’s a shame that it has to take place without an audience – because it’s about the Christmas spirit. And we are actually very happy that we are playing again for the first time in a long time, also playing with the orchestra again ”, says the artistic director Marius Burkert.
“It’s also a different atmosphere – singing into the empty hall without the energy of the audience, without having a contact person – but it’s currently the only way to reach the audience,” says singer Mareike Jankowski.
“We come home to our audience”
The audience is reached via Radio Steiermark, because the concert was recorded in its entirety as a festive radio Christmas concert – and will be broadcast on Christmas Day. “Christmas time is actually a time of music, of making music together. And that is precisely what is being neglected at the moment – and that is precisely why I am pleased that we can go home to our audience with our music, ”says opera director Nora Schmid.
