After the traditional Mass of Sainte-Cécile and an exceptional concert at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels last November, the Union Saint-Martin will present its now traditional Christmas concert on December 22.
The chef’s first
“We thought, through a musical program, to bring to life the Christmas period experienced in New York,” announces Dominique Lecomte, the musical conductor.
“We are going to cross the Atlantic to arrive in New York where we will discover this multifaceted city. Through culture, we will experience a few gala evenings,” indicates Dominique Lecomte, for whom this will be his first Christmas concert conducting the Union Saint-Martin orchestra.
“We are going to experience a gala evening at the Metropolitan Opera, where we will of course discover great opera excerpts. We will also be able to enjoy ballets in other New York theaters, specifically on the theme of Christmas with a performance of the ballet “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky. We will then set off through the city to discover a very particular neighborhood which has been admirably set to music by Leonard Bernstein, with a few extracts from West Side Story.” develops the musical leader.
Known tunes
“In the second part of the concert, we will go to light music theaters, show theaters. We will listen to the famous “Phantom of the Opera” by Webber, but also the famous repertoire of Frank Sinatra. We will end on the famous Rockefeller ice rink with the interpretation of some Christmas themes”, concludes Dominique Lecomte.
