A Chinese man found his abducted son after a 24-year search, during which he traveled by motorcycle over 500,000 km in the country, the BBC reported.
Go Gantan, 51, is about to reunite with his son, who was abducted by human traffickers when he was 2 years old, in front of their home in Shandong Province.
The boy’s disappearance inspired a film in 2015 starring Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau.
Child abductions are a major problem in China, where there are thousands of such cases each year.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, the police were able to trace the son’s identity with the help of DNA tests. The two kidnappers have been detained.
No further details have been released, but according to local media, Go found his son in the neighboring province of Henan.
