The former Bulgarian finance minister from the first government of Boyko Borisov, Simeon Dyankov, made a rather gloomy economic forecast for Bulgaria and what will happen to it in the near future.
“17 percent inflation in June”, this is what Dyankov wrote on his personal Facebook profile.
“July and August are traditionally inflationary months, because of more work in agriculture and tourism. We will approach 20 percent,” he warned.
Earlier today, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) announced that inflation for June compared to May was 0.9 percent. From there, they specified that the inflation since the beginning of the year (June 2022 compared to December 2021) was 10.1 percent, and the annual inflation for June 2022 compared to June 2021 was 16.9 percent.
