Pothankot: A child who was playing in front of his house was hit by an unknown vehicle and died. Rayyan (one), son of Abdul Rahim, an employee of PMG Economics and Statistics, and Fasna, a teacher at Balakkuri Higher Secondary School, died in the new house in Vengode East. The vehicle that hit the child has not been identified. The incident occurred on Monday while we were playing in the garden around 6pm.
Abdul Salam, a nearby motorist, first saw the child lying injured in an accident on the road in front of the house. The child was found bleeding from the ear and nose and wounded in the back of the head. He was rushed to a private hospital but his life cannot be saved.
Only the stepfather and mother of the child were present in the house. The body was transferred to the Medical College Hospital. The vehicle that hit the child has not been identified.
Abdussalam told police that a car passed just before seeing the injured child. Pothankot police registered a case and started an investigation.
