The objective of the measure is to reduce the pressure on general practitioners and to prevent contaminated employees from going to their workplace. The certificate will indicate the day and time when the activation code was issued and is valid as a certificate of absence for the duration necessary (maximum 36 hours) to be tested at the pharmacist or in a test center. The employee is required to immediately inform the employer, to send him the certificate and to be tested as soon as possible, underline the two ministers.
Employees who can telecommute will be allowed to be absent for the time necessary to take the test. Then they will have to resume remote work until the test result is known. They will then inform their employer of the resumption of work or the continuation of their absence due to illness.
In order to ensure respect for privacy, however, employees are not required to disclose the results of the self-assessment or the test to them. If the test result is positive, the employee must isolate himself at home and contact the attending physician who will ensure follow-up.
The CTC came into effect on Friday and will expire on February 28. During this period, an employee will be able to make use of the possibility of taking time off work for a Covid test at most three times by using the self-assessment tool.
