Dr. Abdel Nasser Hamida, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Al-Gharbia, explained that upon reporting a suspicion of a treatment center in violation, the Free Treatment Administration formed a committee that includes each of the Preventive Medicine Department, Food Control, and the Department of Hazardous Medical Waste in the Directorate, pointing out that the committee has waxed and closed the aforementioned center .
Dr. Abdel Nasser Hamida also confirmed that Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health, stresses the launch of monitoring campaigns on all non-governmental medical facilities in all governorates of the Republic, and taking all legal measures regarding violations, in the interest of citizens’ health.
For its part, Dr. Hamid Mahmoud, Director of the Free Therapy Department, indicated that it was found that the center was run by a person impersonating a doctor with programs on satellite channels and examining patients and claiming to treat magic and treat diseases with herbs, through the video call feature for exorbitant sums.
Dr. Bashwi Sami, the general coordinator of the Free Treatment Committee, stated that a quantity of medicinal herbs of unknown source was seized at the center, where it was seized with a case-verification report with the knowledge of Professor Haitham Ghayad, Dr. Shaima Al-Sheikh, and samples of the herbs in the clinics’ warehouse were taken through Prof. Amr Abrahek, Ahmed Abdullah, and Al-Husseini Abdel-Fattah from the Food Administration to analyze and determine the extent of its validity and compliance with the specifications, stressing that the place should be closed with judicial accuracy.
