Ofakim Festival, one of the biggest street theater celebrations in the Negev, returns for the 8th time for a spectacular celebration on August 24-23, between 18:30 and 22:30 and offers an amazing experience for the whole family. As part of the festival, dozens of artists from Israel and the world will present street theater in original shows that include: performances, theatrical processions, pantomime, acrobatics, circus and juggling shows, all free of charge. Natan Goshen will open the festival with a festive performance, at a gala evening that will take place on Tuesday, 22.08.2023 at the Gan HaBanim amphitheater.
Among the shows that will take place during the days of the festival: a breathtaking acrobatics show by Snap Vital & Jochen the german; The human comedian – A parody show about the world of the circus, in the form of a crazy comic, which comes straight from Argentina and combines the Hytholi cabaret with the participation of the audience, A breathtaking show by the famous “Yumana” bandwhich for the first time will perform in a street show and will combine acting, dance and unique sounds, “Life is a circus” show – A laugh-out-loud show where the characters play a father and a son who has difficulty in school. In addition, they will arrive straight from spain the trio of jumpers”todozancos– who know how to drive the audience crazy with stunts out of this world, and “Edgar’s Show” – A clown show full of humor and fantasy for the whole family.
The following will also appear during the festival: “Physical Circus” which combines comedy, juggling, pantomime, visual surprises and formulas from dreams. The show is a humorous interpretation of Newton’s laws of physics and motion. In addition to the street shows, they will walk around the festival Two giant colorful marionette clowns And beautiful, pyro clowns who will dance and delight the audience, a live musical sculpture of the singer Om Kulthum, and this year the festival will be designed with A special exhibition in the public space – “Artista”, with large and unusual elements.
The organization of the festival is jointly led by the Ofakim Community Center – Department of Culture, Art and Leisure, in cooperation with the Ofakim Municipality, the producer Jackie Bacher, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry for the Development of the Peripheries, the Negev and the Galilee and the Lottery Factory.
