At the 30th anniversary of the Jammersee Triathlon, the triathlon community experienced an outstanding event. Thanks to a completely sold-out competition, the perfect organization by the Tri Dornbirn team and ideal weather conditions, the triathlon festival at Jannersee was a complete success. The competition consisted of 400 meters of swimming, 16 kilometers of cycling and 4 kilometers of running.
National Championship: Hämmerle and Meier dominate
Sarah Hämmerle and Jakob Meier secured the title of the new national triathlon champions. Hämmerle impressed in the women’s race with a confident start-to-finish victory. After the swim, where she achieved the fastest time, her victory was hardly in danger. After the swim, she was over a minute ahead of Hannah Wöll (Tri Team Bludenz), who later came in third, and almost three minutes ahead of her strongest competitor Denise Neufert (hellblau.Powerteam), who, despite having the fastest bike and run time, was unable to make up the deficit from the swim and had to settle for second place in the end.
In the men’s race, an exciting duel developed between the brothers Jakob and Moritz Meier from the Tri Team Bludenz. Jakob only prevailed in the last kilometer of the run and secured victory ahead of his brother. The strong youth athlete Julian Bernhard (Tri Dornbirn) completed the podium.
