MADRID. V Spanish in Marbella, a car crashed into a pedestrian zone full of terraces of restaurants and cafés. At least ten people were injured.
Police said most of the injured were hospitalized in the city, but two were taken to a larger facility in Málaga. One of them is a seriously injured woman.
The vehicle was driven by a 30-year-old Spaniard, who was arrested by police on the spot. Police ruled out a terrorist motive behind the incident.
The incident happened in the afternoon, when there were many people at the place for lunch, said Raúl Morote, whose family owns several restaurants on the popular boulevard.
“The car cranked and took everything with it,” Morote told the AP. According to him, rescuers helped about ten people on the spot, many of them with bloodied legs.
