According to Delfi, the vocal group Insomnia was founded in 2018 and performs a cappella compositions of various genres. It has won second place in one of the world’s leading a cappella competitions “Moscow Spring A Cappella Festival”, as well as given concerts with Maestro Raimonds Pauls in the program “Three Raimondi”, performed the concert program “Dedication” together with the outstanding composer Mārtiņš Brauns and collaborated with artists such as Aminata, Jānis Stībelis, Zigfrīds Muktupāvels, Raimonds Ozols and others.
The concert on December 16 at Latvijas Radio Studio 1 will be special not only for the listeners, but also for the musicians themselves, as the band will perform in a new line-up, marking a new beginning. The current participants Robert Memmēni (bass) and Dagnis Roziņš (tenor) will be joined by Niks Freimanis (baritone), Karlīna Priedēna (viola), Madara Gaile (viola), Sanija Roze (soprano) and Sanita Roze (soprano).
In the pre-Christmas concert program, the artists promise to create a mood of glamor, warmth and love, performing both Christmas and other songs that are close to them and stylistically different.

“LV Jazz Series 2021” concerts take place once a month and musicians offer new programs. After the concerts, their recordings are offered to the international jazz music communication network “Europe Jazz Network”, which unites more than 250 organizers and hosts of European jazz festivals, regular events and concert venues. Thus, the new jazz programs of our artists are also popularized internationally. This year, the trio of guitarist Matīss Čudars, pianist Tomas Mikāls’ quartet together with singer Kristīne Prauliņš, guitarist Rihards Lībietis’ group “Rihards Lībietis Orchestra” and pianist Krista Saržants’ octet together with singer Evilens Protektoris have already performed in the concert series. “
“LV Jazz Series” is intended as an annual event that will continue to offer listeners to get acquainted with the latest trends in Latvian jazz and will be another public platform for young artists.
