The House of Artists, located next to the Tunnel, in Plovdiv will be turned into a museum of fine arts. The unique building is already owned by collector Dimitar Indjov, he told Plovdiv24.bg.
“All my life I have wanted to make a museum where I can collect the works I have collected. This is how I will present my environment, my friends with whom I have traveled the world and had fun. Many of them are now deceased. The bad thing is that only now, “Indjov said.
The future museum will present works not only of great authors, but also of those whose names are not in newspapers or books. Like Nikola Petrov, who is highly valued not only in Bulgaria and receives many awards in Europe, but dies in extreme poverty. About him Vladimir Dimitrov-The Master says:
“Kolyo is the greatest master of tone, no one can paint tones like him.” Among them are authors whose life ends at the age of 25-30, but their work is bright and significant: the symbolist Goshka Datsov, Georgi Mitov from the artistic family Mitovi, whom teachers at the Art Academy in Turin say after his death that he is the most the greatest talent who was trained there, Kocho Garnev, who was chairman of the Union of Artists in the 30-40s of the twentieth century in Germany, but never managed to make an exhibition in Bulgaria because he was liked by Goebbels and Hitler, the spit on us George Papazov, for whom only Geo Milev and Sirak the Wanderer speak kindly. As well as the deceased in the last 4-5 years Chavdar Pashev, Georgi Kononets, Georgi Simov, Alexander Zhaberov, Tanyo Mitev, Dimitar Kirchev, Andrey Daniel, Nikola Manev. The collection probably exceeds 2000-3000 works, together with the drawings. However, the museum will exhibit paintings and sculptures of the collector’s personal choice.
“I wanted to do it earlier, but I didn’t succeed. It will be a museum, a spiritual space. Nothing will be sold. This will be my gift for Plovdiv, art and the country,” Indjov revealed.
At least two years will be needed for the reconstruction of the museum building, according to the requirements of the Ministry of Culture. The most serious changes will be in the interior to meet the requirements for humidity and temperature in the exhibition of paintings and sculptures.
We remind you that The House of Artists was put up for sale in the beginning of the year. The indicated price was 459,000 euros, which makes 1577.31 euros / sq. meter. The house has an area of 291 square meters and has a yard of 500 square meters. The building was part of the assets of the public-private company between the municipality of Plovdiv and the businessman Georgi Gergov “Puldin Turinvest”. In 2015, it was sold to Anna and Georgi Barbudevi, who are now getting rid of it. The new owner, Dimitar Indjov, has not yet taken possession.
