One bus unit experienced a fire on the Ungaran toll road. The driver, who realized the fire had occurred, was able to save 30 passengers.
The incident occurred precisely at KM 433,800 line A at around 04.15 WIB. At that time, the PO Sudiro Tungga Jaya bus with the police number AD 1521 BU was driving and suddenly the driver named Kukuh realized that there was a fire in the engine. He immediately stopped the vehicle.
“According to the bus driver, the fire first appeared from the engine room, then the bus driver stopped the bus and saved approximately 30 passengers,” said Head of the Semarang Police, AKP Rendy Johan, in his statement, Saturday (4/12/2021).

He confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident. The fire was extinguished by deploying two fire engines.
“The fire was extinguished by deploying two fire engines from TMJ, we were able to control the bus body and thank God there were no fatalities in this incident,” said Rendy.
The PO Sudiro Tungga Jaya bus is on the Tangerang-Yogya route. There were 30 passengers on the bus at that time. At the time of the incident, traffic had stalled but is now back to normal.
“Until now our members from the Laka unit and Patwal assisted from the PJR Toll unit are still on standby at the location for monitoring and disbursing the flow. We have also coordinated from the Semarang Police Inafis unit to investigate the cause of the bus burning,” he said.
