In early August, a huge fire broke out on the Greek island of Rhodes. Due to the fire, much of the island was left without electricity for several hours, and residents of the villages of Psinfos and Maritsa were evacuated for security reasons. Firefighters were able to prevent the spread of fire in the Valley of the Butterflies, popular with tourists and the rarest nature reserve in Europe.
