The 27-year-old man climbed on the roof of the Departures terminal and wanted to jump
A Bulgarian has attempted suicide at Athens’ Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, Proto Tema reports.
On Sunday at noon, passport control officers noticed that the 27-year-old Bulgarian had boarded the roof of the Departures terminal at the airport and was ready to jump from there. His intentions were thwarted by airport security officers who managed to approach him and stop him before he took the fatal step.
The young man resisted, trying to break away from the airport security guards.
He was taken to a prosecutor’s office, where he admitted that he intended to end his life because suffers from depression.
