A Bulgarian rescue dog found a survivor in Antakya – The Old Continent – The World – NOVA News

One of the five rescue dogs that Bulgaria sent to Turkey found a woman alive under the debris in the city of Antakya. This was confirmed for NOVA by the PSS.

At the same time, from February 7 until now, a total of 27 volunteers have gone by personal transport to help. The only off-road ambulance in our country also went there. Today another 20 volunteers went to the epicenter of the tragedy.

The first team’s journey by land takes over 30 hours. They arrive late last night and a group of 9 rescuers go out into the field.

“Meanwhile, in order to survive in the harsh conditions, they receive help from both the Bulgarian and Turkish sides,” said volunteer Georgi Vlaikov. “I have no words to express my admiration for what you have done,” he continues.

Meanwhile, a day ago, Turkey turned to the Association of Volunteers in our country with another call for help. And in a matter of hours, 20 people from all over the country responded.

“These are people with big hearts, people who have their jobs and their daily duties, but they have been prepared for this for years – they train, they are trained, they are equipped. There are people who know how to work with ropes, to rescue with the alpine method”, said Yasen Tsvetkov from the National Association of Volunteers.

Among them is Berk Ruzhdi – one of the Bulgarian doctors who leaves the white coat here and leaves for Turkey with the hope of lending a hand to a survivor.

“It is my duty if I can help the people in our neighborhood. This is a natural disaster of a very large scale, and I personally do not think that I am prepared to see what awaits us”, said Berk Rushdi.

Although this is not the first time he has volunteered in a crisis situation. 2 years ago, he was the first to enter the COVID ward of the hospital in his native Isperih. And lends a hand to his exhausting colleagues.

“My work in the COVID ward in Isperih, because it was filled to capacity, will give me some insight, experience, preparation that we can meet a lot of people who are going to die,” said Berk Rushdi.

Last words before the volunteers fly to Istanbul.

“The group travels with transport organized by the Turkish side and will return in the same way,” explained Yasen Tsvetkov.

Meanwhile, the two Spartans are also on full alert to transport medics, rescuers and humanitarian aid to the epicenter of Saturday’s tremors.

“Then the rotation of the Sofia emergency squad will be carried out, then we will take some of our colleagues from the BCH. There is humanitarian aid that is located close to Vrazhdebna. I hope it will be palletized in time so that we can provide humanitarian aid to the Turkish side”, said Dimitar Stoyanov, Minister of Defense.
