A Bulgarian policeman became a hero in New York

STAFF: BNT

Bulgarian Dilyan Krastev, who is a police officer in the United States, has become a real hero in New York.

Krastev was patrolling the Brooklyn Bridge when a woman rushed to him in panic.

Through tears, she explained to the police that her child was not breathing. Krastev immediately started giving artificial respiration to the 3-month-old boy, who was unconscious, and his partner called an ambulance.

Only the officer’s timely actions saved the baby’s life.

“It’s worrying because I’m a father myself. As a parent, no one wants to see their child in such a moment of helplessness. You have nothing to think about. You have to act. Every second is very important in such a moment because we can lose that child. “My family is my friends. For them I am their angel,” Dilyan Krastev told BNT.

According to him, the police profession is related to training in all situations.

“Of course it is worrying, because the child is very small. It is one thing to help an adult, but a small child, this is my first time,” said Dilyan Krastev.
