A Bulgarian is among six arrested on the island of Martinique in a police operation that seized more than a tonne of cocaine. Police have arrested citizens of Croatia, Bulgaria, Latvia and Estonia.
Martinique is an overseas department of France located in the Caribbean Sea. Customs officers found the drugs on a vessel in the city of Le Marine when the suspects transferred the illegal cargo to another vessel, BGNES reports.
They are currently being held at the Dukos Prison in central Martinique, and authorities have confiscated drugs and two vessels involved in the illegal trade.
