A Bulgarian extremist trampled the Greek flag in Kavala and placed the Bulgarian one

A 35-year-old Bulgarian man with radical far-right views was arrested after he removed the Greek flag from the mast located at the Apostolos Pavlos port, Greek media reported, quoted by bTV.

At the same time, the man threw down the Greek flag and raised the Bulgarian flag, chanting that “this is Bulgaria”.

Eyewitnesses informed the port authorities, who arrived at the scene and tried to arrest the 35-year-old man, who resisted, insulted the guards and shouted that these areas belong to Bulgaria.

The man has stated that he is a member of an extremist Bulgarian organization that believes that Kavala and its surroundings do not belong to Greece, but to Bulgaria.

Port officials took him to the prosecutor’s office, where a case was filed against him for insulting national symbols. A little later he was released by order of the prosecutor.
