Police are looking for a killer in Kazanlak, Monitor reports. “We are working on several versions, we hope to have a result soon, the identity of the dead man has been established, the man has a criminal record, but it is very old and has not been convicted,” said Hristo Petrov, head of the Kazanlak Police Department.
He confirmed that early in the morning on Friday, November 12, the body of a dead man, who was without identity documents, was found next to the entrance of block 8 in the Iztok residential area of the City of Roses.
The signal on 112 was received by the guards at 5.16 am, upon arrival at the scene the police found that the death was the result of a craniocerebral trauma, most likely caused by a heavy object.
The victim is 53 years old and lived in a neighboring block of the neighborhood. Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted under Article 115 of the Penal Code for premeditated murder, the case is being monitored by the Stara Zagora District Prosecutor’s Office.

A little more than a year ago, a double murder was committed in the same neighborhood. On June 15, 2020, the bodies of 44-year-old owner Zhelyo Alexandrov and his tenant, 36-year-old Ukrainian citizen Mykola Stefanovich, were found in apartment 101 on 8-storey block 15.
Both died from multiple stab wounds to the chest, the signal on 112 was given while agonizing the Ukrainian.
Upon arrival, detectives found the two occupants dead. The pre-trial proceedings initiated at that time under Article 116, paragraph 1, item 4 of the Penal Code have not yet been completed.
