A brutal blow for the Czechs. Another huge price increase of everything, it’s time to stock up

Who would have expected that by the end of the year we would have had some respite from the price increase, because the increase has been so great in the past few months that few could have imagined it would continue, must now be very disappointed.

We will go even higher

For a while it really looked as though prices might already be stabilizing, but the September inflation data fully revealed that we are far from over. While some experts have already tried to reassure the public that inflation will ultimately not exceed 20 percent, it is now more or less clear that it will happen in a month or two. And unfortunately, developments show that we can go even higher.

The reason is mainly the high energy prices. Suppliers raised their electricity and gas prices again in September, with the fact that more and more people have to switch to the new price lists plays an important role. Progressively fewer Czechs protect fixations from cheaper times.

But this is not the only problem. Once again, it appears that a near-perfect storm is heading towards us, with high energy prices coupled with further increases in food prices. After all, these are linked containers. Virtually no food production can do without an intensive use of electricity or gas. However, the state has decided not to provide any such assistance to large companies, which usually include producers. Therefore, there will be no choice but to significantly increase prices.

The important elements go up

This will certainly be reflected in the prices of dairy products. It is already rumored that butter will cost 80 crowns before Christmas. That is, like never before in history. The farmers have therefore warned us to prepare for a real increase in potato prices, because this year has not happened in all of Europe. Drinkers are in a similar situation. Kofoly’s boss informed that the company has already raised its prices three times this year and will have to continue to do so.

Even such a simple item as toilet paper is getting more expensive. Many of its producers have reduced or stopped production altogether. It just isn’t worth it for them anymore.

Of course, these aren’t the only items. Others will also raise prices. It is all the more painful because these are basic necessities that we have to buy regularly and which we cannot do without.
