A massive fire broke out Friday night, displacing more than 100 firefighters, in a park in southern New York, which has been affected by severe drought, local authorities said Saturday.
A firefighter was slightly injured and taken to a nearby hospital. This fire, which started in nearby Brooklyn, started Prospect Park, considered controlled on Saturday. The fire, which caused no immediate material damage, ignited an area “about the size of two football fields”, New York firefighters explained.
