Asked if the free world was betraying Ukraine because support was more in words than in deeds, Elliott said it was not. “I can’t speak for other countries, but as far as our country is concerned, we have increased our annual support to Ukraine to £2.5 billion for this year, which is an increase of £200 million compared to last year. And much of that aid is for drones and similar technology. It is important that each of us do what we can. It’s going to be a long fight. And we will be there to the end,” said the lord.
“What will it mean for Bulgaria, for Great Britain, for the world, if Russia succeeds in achieving its goals in Ukraine? It is not worth even thinking about. Russia’s expansion is not for the good of anyone. And NATO is an extremely effective defense alliance. And recently it has been further strengthened with Finland and Sweden. NATO has the upper hand and is very focused on this grand challenge,” commented Timothy Elliott.
