Former Canadian player Guillaume Latendresse, who has since become a media commentator, announced on social networks Wednesday that he wishes to take a break from his activities due to “mentally difficult times”.

“I wanted to write to you to let you know that I am currently going through difficult times mentally,” he wrote. This has been a recurring situation for several years, probably a symptom of my concussions [cérébrales] during my career, and I decided to try to solve my problem this week. »
A little later in the same message, he says he wants to “take a break from all my professional activities, The Blue PocketTVA and the Battalion”.
Latendresse, 37, was a second-round pick by the Canadiens in the 2005 draft. He also played with the Minnesota Wild and the Ottawa Senators.
In 341 games in the National Hockey League, he scored 87 goals and added 60 assists, for a total of 147 points.
Recently, he had become co-owner of the Bataillon de Saint-Hyacinthe, a new team in the North American Hockey League.
