Children’s book publisher “Ausma” has published a sheet music book “Songs for Children”, which summarizes songs created by Latvian composer Laura Polence. The children have already fallen in love with it, watching the series “Tuta’s Things”, “Ukulele” and “Emī and Rū”.
The pages of the book “Songs for Children” contain notes and lyrics for songs already loved by children, the author of which is the talented composer Laura Polence, but the lyrics were written by poets Kārlis Vērdiņš and Edvards Kuks, as well as writers Inga Mastiņa and Elizabete Lukšo-Ražinska. Sheet music and song verses are complemented by illustrations by the artist Guna Poga, in which the characters and characters of the songs live their own lives. A QR code has also been added to the book, which will take you to a special selection created on the web with karaoke versions of all 22 songs in the book. “For three years now, I have had the great pleasure and honor of composing music for the youngest audience, so an even happier event is the release of this beautiful sheet music book, which I myself have been looking forward to. I hope that it will delight and be a great helper for little singers as well, ”says songwriter Laura Polence.
Laura Polence is a singer, composer and pianist. He has been involved in music since the age of six, after graduating from the conducting class of the Riga Dome Choir School in 2007, Laura moved to the Netherlands to study jazz vocals and composition at the Amsterdam School of Art. Currently, Laura still lives in Amsterdam and is active in several musical and theatrical projects. Laura has been composing songs for children since 2018, and in 2020 and 2021 she received the Latvian Music Record of the Year Award “Golden Microphone” in the category “Best Music Album for Children of the Year”.
