A book by singer Kārlis Kazāks about the summers of «Bicycle Music» has been published / Article

The first book of the musician and singer Kārlis Kazāks “The Beginning Finds Us” about the summers of “Velomūzikas” has been published, informs the representatives of the publishing house “Zvaigzne ABC”.

Since 2012, Kārlis Kazāks has been organizing musical concert tours with bicycles “Velomūzika”, exchanging concerts for overnight stays. “Velomūzika” has traveled around Latvia on bicycles for 9 summers, made ten trips, rolled out about 5,000 kilometers and given at least 80 concerts.

“How many kilometers a day can an untrained cyclist beat a bicycle loaded with bags and musical instruments? Have no idea. Are those paths marked with dashed lines on the map accessible by bike? Have no idea. Do you need to ask these smarter questions? I don’t think so… What will be the name of our trip? It was not difficult to make a decision – bicycles and music, so “Cycling music”, “writes Kārlis Kazāks. This is how the adventure of “Bicycle Music” begins on a leisurely winter evening. After that, with each trip, it became increasingly clear what to plan and what not, what to take with you and what not. But the basic principle does not change: riders do not pay for accommodation, but earn accommodation with music.

In his book, Kārlis Kazāks draws not only the roads and off-roads, but also the characteristics of the riders, the people they met and the various adventures.

Ilze Vācere, the editor of the book, says about the work: “This book is a very personal guide to a trip around Latvia. When reading, you get the feeling that you are driving with everyone, mentioning uphill or through the thickest sand, while refreshing from the dungeons. Every reader will find a place name in this book that says something and is important to him. ”

The book’s publishers also state: “But this is definitely not a story about cycling. This is a love story of Karl Kazak. Love for Latvia, music and people. And there’s nothing that even he sometimes got nauseous during the trip and wanted everyone to close “and listen to me.”

An e-book is also available.
