The ladies from ŽGERB in Burgas united around another noble cause, which aims to help people in need. This time a hand is extended to women who have heard the terrible diagnosis of breast cancer.
Traditionally, ŽGERB celebrates World Breast Cancer Day with various events every year. This year’s cause of ŽGERB is a donation campaign with the book “I overcame cancer and YOU can” by Galya Ilieva.
In this regard, Evelina Mihaleva – regional coordinator of ŽGERB – Burgas, and Yovka Yanakieva – member of NIS of ŽGERB, held a working meeting with ladies representing the women’s organization of ŽGERB in the district.
“The initiative is carried out within the framework of the national campaign of ŽGERB under the motto “Bulgaria needs love” and through which the 6th priority of the program of ŽGERB – “Emotional intelligence and a healthy lifestyle” is implemented – said Yovka Yanakieva.
The author of the book is Galya Ilieva – a supporter of ŽGERB. She donated 300 copies of her book so that the publication could reach every single municipality in Bulgaria.
“By reading this book, you will get a chance to make changes, gaining knowledge to restart your life. You will discover the real causes of social problems and diseases, you will feel what the paths to health are, you will have the choice of a new lifestyle and in general you will influence your destiny”, says the author.
It is not the first time that ladies from Burgas and the region join forces to help women and families from all over Bulgaria.
“It is scary for every woman to hear such a diagnosis, but it is important to know that the disease is not a sentence and there is a way to cure it. Yes, the path of healing is not easy, but it is much more confidently and calmly walked when you know that there is someone to support you. Therefore, every single help is important, necessary and timely. I am happy that once again we are able to lend a hand and help. The book will be provided to each of the municipalities in the Burgas region, so all ladies from the region will have access to it,” explained Evelina Mihaleva.
The book “I overcame cancer and YOU can” was also donated to the Association “Oncology patients and friends” – Burgas, as well as to the library of the National Oncology Hospital “Virgin Mary” – Burgas.
