Mauro Icardi is, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the forward desired by José Mourinho to replace Edin Dzeko, who is about to transfer to Inter Milan.
Contractually linked to Paris Saint-Germain for another three years, Icardi will lose space in the team with the eventual arrival of Lionel Messi at the club. The 28-year-old Argentinian will therefore be receptive to a return to Italy (he played for Inter and Sampadoria) to work with Mourinho.
According to the same source, the negotiations may see significant developments during this Tuesday, with the salary – receiving nine million euros a year at PSG – the only obstacle to a potential transfer.
