A BOLA – Textor buys squad for Castro (Botafogo)

“If I didn’t want titles, I would have bought Londrina”, said businessman John Textor, yesterday, in an interview with CNN Brasil. The owner of 90 percent of Botafogo has already reinforced the team with ten players and has a few more words.

The intention is to leave Luís Castro, who said goodbye to Al Duhail, from Qatar, towards alvinegro, in a position to win in the medium term.

Patrick de Paula arrived in Rio de Janeiro yesterday, a jewel of Palmeiras whose reputation was falling and who cost six million euros for half the pass. Oyama, from Mirassol, and Victor Sá, from Al Jazira, are also insured. For the rest, Piazon, ex-SC Braga, Saravia, ex-FC Porto, and Philippe Sampaio, ex-Guingamp, among others from the domestic market, signed. Marçal, from Wolves, is in the pipeline.

Botafogo lost yesterday to Fluminense (0-1) in the first leg of the Cariocão semi-finals. The second game, perhaps with Castro on the bench, is on Sunday. The winner will face Paulo Sousa’s Flamengo in the final.
