A BOLA – Testing removes the public from the derby (Benfica)

The expectations of incarnated officials with regard to the capacity with regard to the derby with Sporting, scheduled for Friday (21.15 hours), are much lower.

A source from the Eagle Club told A BOLA that “in the best case” the stands should receive “half a house or not”, that is, something like 20 to 30 thousand spectators.

Low expectations are directly linked to the need for testing and presenting a negative test to enter the venue. Despite the 55,000 entries currently authorized, many of those who already have a ticket or even a captive seat may not go to the game, either by their own choice or simply because they may not get the necessary test in time. This is because the responsiveness of the institutions responsible for carrying out the tests – pharmacies and laboratories – will be put under strong pressure in the next 48 hours: yesterday there were already many pharmacies in the Lisbon area that were no longer accepting antigen test appointments for this week.
