A BOLA – Taarabt has already left Conakry and coup d’etat (Morocco)

According to Mohamed Makrouf, head of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (RFMF), cited by the AFP, the Moroccan delegation, which includes Adel Taarabat, a Benfica player, “has already boarded and is returning to Morocco”, thus leaving it to behind the coup d’etat scenario in Guinea Conakry.

The Moroccan team was installed in Conakry to, tomorrow, face the local team in a qualifying game for the 2022 World Cup, which, due to recent events, ended up suspended.

FIFA reported: “The current political and security situation in Guinea Conakry is quite volatile and is being closely monitored by FIFA and the African Football Confederation (CAF). To ensure the safety of all players and referees, FIFA and CAF decided to postpone the game.”

During the afternoon, Mohamed Makrouf, from the RFMF, had already announced the start of the operation to withdraw the entire staff team back to Rabat from Conakry.
