Benfica and Sporting entered the group stage of the European Handball League with the right foot. In Germany, the eagles overcame TBV Lemgo by 30-29, managing, in the second half, to turn the 14-16 disadvantage that prevailed at half-time.
At João Rocha, Sporting received and beat Swiss team Kadetten by 29-28. The lions were even behind 12-17 in the second half but accelerated in the final part to win by a goal difference.
In the next round, Benfica will face Russian Chekhovskiye Medvedi, in Luz, while Sporting travels to Hungary to measure forces with Tatabánya.
