Pedro Pablo Pichardo won the Gyulai István Memorial’s triple-jump competition in Hungary, with the best world record of the year: 17.92 meters.
The Portuguese athlete was very close to the national record of 17.95 meters, which also belongs to him, as did the previous best record of 2021, achieved in Madrid last month, with 17.69 meters.
Pichardo is one of 92 athletes who are part of the Portuguese delegation to the Tokyo Olympic Games, which start on the 23rd.
